Now on to the review
Today's book: Fahrenheit 451 by: Ray Bradbury
I had to read this one for school and I most definitely am not a Bradbury fan but....this one was good I liked the theme of censorship in it. Fahrenheit 451 was written in 1953 originally a short story called The Fireman written in 1950 latter made into a full length novel. In a society where all books are baned and if found are burned, main character Guy Montage begins to question his position as one of the firemen that burns our beloved stories and books. at first he only steels one then sinks further and further into the conspiracy of the government to keep all "happy". The book is science fiction but still good.
Favorite quote~"It was a pleasure to burn."-this is the first line of book and is just so simple it's beautiful.
This is a classic on challenging censorship and questioning what we know. A must for any library but not a must buy unless your into political and books on utopias.
Two out of four stars
I shall leave one question: do you think they should ban books?
REMEMBER I ONLY DO YA BOOKS (and others leave any book you want checked out and if it is not YA I shall inform you if I will check it out)
merry reading I will post tomorrow another book!
