**EDIT Wed Dec 9 00:28:16 UTC 2009 **

The notification system has been fixed in the new release... we are currently processing the queue, which is upwards of 12m jobs... please bear with us while our workers chew through this large queue and get your notification / emails out. Some may come more quickly than others due to weights on the notifications themselves, but we are hoping in the next 24 hours to have all the queues cleared and all notifications delivered that had been queued up over the past few days.

Again I apologize for this inconvenience, but we are almost out of the woods as soon as we are done clear cutting some of the forest ;)

Thanks,

** END EDIT**

Hey Guys,

Unfortunately with our last release, and its instability, we were forced to roll back releases. Unfortunately in doing so, it would seem that our notification system has been broken somehow. Our engineers are working on this issue as quickly as possible. We hope to have a patch within the next day, so we can deploy our code and fix the notification system at the same time. Please *bear* with us ;)

Currently all notifications are being queued up so they can be processed as soon as the fix is pushed and verified to be working correctly.

Thank you,

"Generation Dead" By Daniel Waters

This book was soo good. Basically this book is about teens rising from the dead and not being welcomed back, even by their own families. This strange phenomenon is only happening to teens and only in the United States and no one can explain why. At Oakvale High School, they are accepting these teens into their community as well as in their schools, and many kids and parents do not appreciate this. The main character is Phoebe who falls in love with the "zombie leader" Tommy. Its about their entanglement of trying to be together despite everyone else's views on the matter including her best friend Adam who is in love with her.

This book is part of a series and it is book one. I really enjoyed this book, because it isn't your typical love story. Tommy and Adam pretty much profess their love for Phoebe where as Phoebe doesn't know what she feels for Tommy and is completely in the dark about Adam. I think i enjoyed it the most because of that fact. You had to keep reading to figure out what she was thinking and what these "worm-heads" were going through.

Now i don't really know if it was the pressure of trying to finish this book in time that it wont lapse into my school work, or if i am just booked out (doubt it) but for some reason it seemed like such a slow book, even though it interested me and i wanted to read it. Yea i know it doesn't make sense to me either. I thought for sure that i might not have a good review on it and that i wouldn't end up buying the second book, but once you get to the last ehh fifteen chapters, you are totally engorged into it and you can't wait to get your hands on the second book to find out what happens. If they didn't put the first two chapters of book two at the end i think i would have had to make a late night drive to walmart to read what happens. It is a really big cliff hanger.

Overall: I feel that this book is really good. I feel though that you need to make time to read it or you wont full satisfaction of it, like i am unfortunately feeling at the moment. I definitely recommend this book and say it is worth the read.

Hey Everyone, we are about to run the last alter job that we need to on our database servers. This will effect userpics / scrapbook / vgift images for the next few hours. Have no fear, your images aren't lost, there is just a really intensive process running on the servers which store the information for mogilefs. Thank you for your understanding and all the LJ love...

Hey LJers,

I just wanted to let you all know that we are going to be performing some mogilefs maintenance over the next few days. We will be upgrading our current version to latest stable as well as changing some db config information to better handle the amount of files we are currently hosting. This shouldn't cause a big impact on site stability, but you may see some minor delays with userpic / scrapbook images appearing or other requests associated with our mogilefs. We would love to not have that happen, but unfortunately with some of the steps we need to take we have to cause a delay with images. I figured this was a better solution than taking down all of LiveJournal because well lets face it, we all need our daily LJ fix ;)

Thanks,

"Hush, Hush" By Becca Fitzpatrick

Hush, Hush is about a girl named Nora Grey who finds herself wickedly attracted to a "bad boy" named Patch, a fallen Angel. The story plot is about her finding out who he really is (a fallen angel) and who the person is who has been trying to kill her. This book starts out and almost ends with sooo many questions. When you start getting towards the end you want to just call the author and yell "WHEN AM I GOING TO FIND OUT ANYTHING!!" but by the end you find everything out. This book was seriously sooo good. I found myself wishing i could be Nora for a day just to see how Patch acts in real life. I read this book in one day, which is really good considering my busy high school schedule.

I am seriously recommending this book to everyone i know. My friend Amanda was talking about buying it, but i think i might just let her borrow it as long as she promises to take good care of it and to not bend the pages. I will kill her!! lol Books are like my kids.

The Royal Diaries Series-Cleopatra VII

Cleopatra VII-Daughter of the Nile
Egypt, 57 B.C.

(Back Cover)
I could feel my insides shaking. Would this sister try to poison me? Yes, I believe so. As for my other older sister, Bernice-never! She and I adore each other even though I am eight years younger. I took the cup and raised it toward Tryphaena as if toasting her, but really I was watching the liquid, looking for oil floating on its surface, or powder sticking to the sides of the cup. If I suspected poison and tossed it into the pool, she would have her guards behead me on the spot. If it indeed was poison, one sip and I would surely die....My eyes closed as I took the first sip. My stomach turned with nervousness, or was it from a fearsome death beginning in me?

I have to say that this was an amazing book about Cleopatra's young life. All of the book's in the Royal Diaries series images the real royal girls as young teens. (12-15) This series is child friendly. There is no cursing or adult actions in any of the books. In a different book from the royal diaries series, the girl had a child but no....details were included. These books are a great reference for a social studies project, report, essay, etc.

Cleopatra's Father was Ptolemy XII- in modern terms he would be considered as a drunk.
Her Mother was Cleopatra V-no information about Cleo. V is included in the book.
Cleopatra had 5 brothers and sisters:
Cleopatra VI(Tryphaena which means pleasure seeker)eldest
Berenice IV 2nd eldest
Arsinoe 4th eldest (3rd youngest)
Ptolemy XIII 5th eldest (2nd youngest)
Ptolemy XIV youngest

This book is written in diary form and is broken up into 2 sets of "scrolls". They are in the one book. This book mainly takes place when her father is in danger of losing his crown as pharaoh because the common people are very upset with him. As I have mentioned he is usually drunk which means he make reckless and quick decisions. He asked Julius Cesar for his troops help to get him back on the throne. He promised Julius a great reward that would take a lifetime (or two) to pay off. He planed to go to Rome alone but Cleopatra leaves too since her life is in danger. She was his father's favorite daughter (the third in line) so many thought that she would be named his successor. She studied the Roman language before and while she traveled just in case her father wouldn't be prepared. She thought of this as her training in order to become a good Queen.

I won't spoil the end so I won't say anymore. This whole series contains alot of accurate information on REAL princess, duchesses, and one king. Every person in the series is a female. Still, males are encouraged to read the books as well.

OMG i could just die of joy from this book. This is seriously the best book i've read since the Twilight saga. This has completely filled my twilight void. Unfortunately there is only this book,it isnt a series, but it was sooo good. This book is about Grace a girl who was attacked by wolves when she was younger, and was saved by one of them, sam. The book is all about her discovering who/what he is and trying to save him from his demise. Its narration is both Grace and Sam. A couple chapters its her point of view, then its his. It has tragedy, love, a pinch of horror, and happiness. I seriously loved this book if you couldn't already tell. It keeps you reading and is just breath taking. Please, please, please dont deprive yourself from reading this book. You will seriously love it. I promise. It really is delicious reading. Im really sorry if you read this book and hate it, but some part of me is telling me you wont.

Enter the dark, magical world of The House of Night, a world very much like our own, except here vampyres have always existed. Sixteen-year-old Zoey Redbird has just been Marked as a fledgling vampyre and joins the House of Night, a school where she will train to become an adult vampire. That is, if she makes it through the Change--and not all of those who are Marked do. It sucks to begin a new life, especially away from her friends, and on top of that, Zoey is no average fledgling. She has been chosen as special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. Zoey discovers she has amazing powers, but along with her powers come bloodlust and an unfortunate ability to Imprint her human ex-boyfriend. To add to her stress, she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers: When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite group, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny--with a little help from her new vampyre friends.

I was pleasantly surprised that I was so engrossed in the first book in the House of Night series. I really enjoyed the storyline and I really like the unique take on "vampyres" in this series. It does remind me a bit of Hogwarts, but to me, that is a positive thing. The only thing I did not care for is some of the immature language spouted off by some of the characters, but then again, this is written for a younger audtience than myself. However, I feel like as this series progresses, it will get even more darker and more interesting. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books.

Books read this year: 46/50.
